MICROSOFT WINS TRIAL AGAINST FTC

MICROSOFT HAS DONE IT! Breaking News today as  Microsoft wins their trial against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

What does this mean?
It means they are good to close to the deal to purchase the massive gaming studio Activision Blizzard(most popular for call of duty, overwatch and Diablo) for $69 Billion before the July 18th deadline. There are still some regulations they still need to pass, for example the Competition Markets Authority(CMA) which also blocked the deal in the UK and is set for trial in late July through early August.
This went to trial because the FTC made the argument that purchase of this gaming studio would be unfair to Sony, and considering the size of Sony that wasn't a good enough argument. Both CEO Phil Spencer and VP Brad Smith took to twitter to comment on the decision.

My honest opinion
As an owner of both consoles, Call of Duty is far too large to be exclusive to either console. Microsoft claims they will not remove Call of Duty from PlayStation, however they've already gone back on their word with other games such as Elder Scrolls and Starfield. Who knows what the future holds, this could mean nothing for PlayStation owners. My thought process is that you do not spend 60+ billion on a franchise without some changes to be made, so I encourage everyone to get an Xbox if you can and prepare for the worst.
